Care | Prayer | Share

The key to help people know Jesus is through Care-Prayer-Share. People need to know we care about them before we can share with them. A great way to show we care for them is to pray with them. At CVC, we believe in praying on the spot with people. This does two things: first, it ensures that we don’t forget to pray for them. There is nothing more embarrassing than to say you will pray for someone and being human you forget. Second it shows that we care enough to take a moment to pray and when we do, we bring heaven to earth.

CARE - People need to feel genuinely cared about before they can hear about and take in the idea of Jesus's love and power. It is for this reason that we say: it all starts with care.  When we truly listen to a person and show interest and concern, we connect with them.  As we take time to get to know people and understand their needs, challenges, concerns, or pain, we open the door of opportunity to connect also on a deeper level, a Jesus level. Here is something powerful:  when you are with a person and want to open a conversation, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you ask questions and hear the person's answers. Before you begin a conversation, say a silent prayer, maybe for only a few seconds, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak through you, to tell you what to say  -- and ask for the person you are talking with to hear and be receptive to what the Holy Spirit is saying. After you and the person have talked, take a moment to pray with them and for them. You will be amazed at the results.

Prayer - Coming from a place of care, our heartfelt prayers are powerful to the Lord. Once we have taken the time to listen to a person and to show we care about them, we can now pray with them and for them. We can make it easy and natural. We simply need to ask the person, “What can I pray for you about?” We can do this with friends, family members or complete strangers. After we discover their need, we ask permission to pray for them.  Then immediately, right there, on the spot, we pray with them and for them. It is amazing how God opens doors through shared prayer. He provides. At CVC, we always pray for 100% healing and 100% restoration of body, heart, mind and soul. Result? We feel God's presence. We experience Jesus's healing. We see miracles. Prayer is powerful; heartfelt prayer is transforming.

PRAYER
SHARE

Share - The most important thing we can do in life is to introduce people to Jesus. Coming as an outcome of caring and prayer, sharing Jesus becomes a natural next step. We do not have to persuade or convince others about how important it is to know Jesus. All we are called to do is to share with others who Jesus is and why he is important to ourselves, on a personal level.   We share our own story about how our lives (or situation) were before we found Jesus, and we share how our lives changed as a result of coming to know Jesus. This doesn't need to be a long conversation. It is only meant to demonstrate to the person our own personal experience of Jesus so that we act as witnesses for the person to see Jesus's works and love.  We then share God's story. God's story has everything to do with wanting to connect with the person, wanting a relationship.  One great way to do this is by using "the three circles"; Circle One is about brokenness. None of us are without having at least some broken part of ourselves, so everyone can relate to brokenness -- not only in the world, but in our personal lives. Circle Two is about God's perfect plan where he ensured a way for us to have connection to Himself and to each other. Circle Three is about Jesus. Jesus is how we repair the brokenness and return to a love relationship with God and others. Whatever approach we use, sharing Jesus is the most important thing we can do in our entire lives, and at CVC, we are here to help you learn how.  We are the body of Jesus, and we equip, encourage, and support one another.
